The assignment

Bring the story and the review together.

An energy-sector AGM film needs to explain a business whose operations can be complex, while fitting a defined corporate occasion. The creative work and the company's review process have to move together.

PurplePerfect worked on Yinson's 2022 AGM video, developing an investor-facing film through successive drafts and client amendments.

Story structure

A review route the team can follow.

01

Approved sources

Agree the reporting period and business messages.

02

Story and visual sequence

Show reviewers how the company will be represented.

03

Consolidated feedback

Bring decisions into the next film version.

A planning model for the communication task.

01

Allow for the decisions that improve the film

The project included revisions with a specified turnaround for amendments. That review work is part of developing a corporate story: a change to a line, image or sequence can alter what the audience takes from it.

For the production team, the task is to make those decisions workable. Reviewers need to see how the business is being represented, and their comments need to reach the people developing the next version.

Inside the creative development

A visual structure for a diversified group.

The 2022 design development explored business segments and global presence as parts of a coherent shareholder story. These frames show the proposed visual approach, rather than a claim about investor response.

02

Explain enough for the shareholder to follow

An energy film needs to make the relationship between operations and the company story understandable. The audience should be able to follow the account without specialist knowledge of every activity on screen.

The planning question is therefore specific: what does this audience need to understand about the business, and which images and explanations will help?

For a new commission, agreeing that question early helps the script, factual review and production schedule develop around the same purpose.

Commissioning an energy-sector AGM film

What should we agree before production begins?

Establish the reporting period, approved messages, source documents, review owners and presentation date. Set points for consolidated feedback and identify who can approve the script, figures and final film.

What changes for a virtual or hybrid AGM?

Obtain the event provider's playback requirements and confirm runtime, captions, audio and delivery formats. Livestreaming, registration, voting and meeting-platform operation require a separately agreed scope.
